Wednesday, December 10, 2008 - Snow, Snow, Go Away.

-A shortened PTI (yes, I just said it) today, due to exams and the like.
-Just to catch up, congrats to Jay Triano in becoming the first Canadian born NBA head coach. OJ in the clink for a min. of 9, max of +30? Karma. When will C.C make his decision? From recent information, to me, it's either the Yankees or Dodgers. Take your pick, big boy. Live update, it appears that he's agreed to come on board with the Pin Stripes for $161 mill over 7 years...
-Now onto our regular programming...What is Michael Jordan, and the rest of the Bobcats' front office thinking? If I'm MJ, I'd be looking to alert the authorities on this one, because the Bobcats were absolutely robbed, in my opinion. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jason Richardson will flourish in PHX, alongside Steve Nash, Stat and co.
-Ryan Getzlaf was asked what the best concert he's been to. He replied, "Tim McGraw and Faith Hill"
-Syracuse Orangeman Eric Devendorf will most likely be suspended by the school for his best impression of Jason Kidd. His lawyer argues that he was defending himself from the hulk of a college girl, who was the "aggressor".
-A glimpse into the Montreal Canadians' practice facility.
-Joe Sakic broke three fingers while he was clearing snow with his snow-blower. I think that's a sign that you should have just retired, Joe.
-Embarrassing and almost infuriating performances by the Raptors as of late, the first two possessions of the game ending up as Cleveland steals and Lebron highlight reel dunks says all that there needs to be said...
-What does a global economy slump mean for sports? Well, the NFL is set to fire 150 employees and freeze salaries through 2009. The Diamondbacks and Jays of the MLB are set to cut a combined 55 front office workers, 9% of the NBA workforce is being cut, and the PGA prize money will take a hit according to the tour's commish, Tim Finchem.

Thursday, August 28, 2008 - No Ordinary Joe

-SI.com's list of the day ranked Peyton Manning as the slowest athlete (currently), the Big Hurt came in 3rd after the Great Khali of the WWE.
-Interesting headline to note: a possible Halos-Jays deal involving one of Toronto's three short-stops for an Angels player. Torii Hunter for John McDonald sounds about right to me.
-Tiger Woods was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and said that his 14-month old daughter imitates television golfers' swing motions with one of his wedges.
-Joe Sakic has signed a one-year contract worth $6 million with the Avalanche to play his 20th NHL season.
-A fill in the blanks with Houston Dynamo's Stuart Holden"I'm dying to...", his answer? Knit a sweater before the summer is over...
-10 suggested MLB postseason ad slogans. Personally, I would have put #10 as #1 on the list.
-What did Jason Kidd do with his Olympic gold medal? He gave it away to Elaine Wynn of Wynn Casino for her hospitality.
-Usain Bolt is already back on track, or the track, competing at the Weltklasse meet before a sell-out crowd. Up for grabs are $50,000 (all figures U.S.) and a gold bar worth $27,000 for a new world record, $16,000 if he wins the race, totalling 93K.
-To all the uninformed Canadians out there, don't eat the meat!
-Video of the day: Arthur guest starring Johnny Damon, Mike Timlin, and Edgar Renteria!
